Whitehead Monckton and Eclipse HR are delighted to be working alongside Canterbury BID and AccessAble to bring a unique event to Canterbury on Thursday, 8th May.
Dr Gregory Burke, founder of AccessAble and specialist employment and equality law barrister, will be among the speakers at this event focussed on the actions businesses and organisations can take to become truly accessible and welcoming to those with a range of disabilities and the wide benefits this can bring.
During the session we will hear from:-
Lisa Carlson – CEO, Canterbury BID – Chair
Veronica Fox – Senior HR Consultant, Eclipse HR – The importance of disabled people in the workforce
Antonio Fletcher – Head of Employment, Whitehead Monckton – Legal compliance and reasonable adjustments
Dr Gregory Burke – Founder of AccessAble and Barrister – Win-Win: practical ways to enhance accessibility for customers and colleagues while growing your business.
We will also be hearing from organisations who have actively engaged in enhancing accessibility and collaborated with different groups of disabled people within the community including Lily’s Social Kitchen and Visit Kent. They will share their experiences as to how these steps have broadened their client base and enhanced their organisation. We will facilitate a “roving microphone” session so that we can hear from diverse voices in the room and specific questions can be asked of our panel.
