I started my career working for London Underground and worked in generalist and specialist areas of HR, gaining Chartered Member status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in 2004. From there I worked for a number of home county police forces before moving into HR consultancy in 2008, gaining a wealth of experience throughout my HR journey.
I have extensive knowledge and experience working in unionised and non-unionised settings having operated in the public and private sectors, including SMEs and start-ups. More recent years have provided an opportunity to work in the education sector, with a variety of assignments in maintained, academy, public and private schools – both primary and secondary; and also in FE and HE settings.
I live by the CIPD principles: Work matters; People matter and Professionalism matters. I also take pride in being a LGBTQ+ Ally and Dementia Friend.
I have expertise in:
Investigations, including acts of dishonesty;
Chairing complex disciplinary panels;
Bespoke HR projects, including Interim HR Business Partner;
Retained HR Support, the provision of day-to-day advice and key employment documents including employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks.
